Assistant Director, Procurement and Contracts

ACT Property Group is seeking an experienced procurement and contract management professional who can work with and lead others to drive good practice and improvements to the organisation’s procurement activities. ACT Property Group purchases a large volume of goods and services, including construction and trade services for the maintenance, management, and upgrade of ACT Government owned and managed properties.
This role works within the organisation and team to ensure that procurements occur in a timely manner, there is strategic oversight and coordination of procurement and contract activities and that staff in the organisation have the right skills, policies, and processes in place. This role is a blend of strategic oversight and coordination, and hands on procurement and contract management. The person, in conjunction with their team, is responsible for driving a significant program of change in procurement and contract management.
ACT Property Group provides expert property management and maintenance services to the ACT Government and the community. The Group manages and maintains buildings and property that enable the ACT Government to provide Government and community services. The group supports the ACT Governments delivery of its services through flexible, efficient, and cost-effective accommodation solutions and property services. Community services and support are also enabled through the provision of properties to community organisations at affordable rental rates. ACT Property Group operates on a fee for service basis with a requirement to provide a dividend to government.

**Eligibility/other requirements**:
This position requires:
- Hold or have the capacity to obtain White Card and Asbestos Awareness.
- a current driver’s licence (car) is highly desirable
- Qualifications in procurement or contract management are highly desirable.
- Relevant training and/or qualifications in project management, construction, building, property management are desirable
- Membership or the ability to obtain membership with relevant professional organisation(s) is desirable
**Note**: This is a temporary position available immediately for three months with possibility of extension up to six months.
