**The Role**:
MUJI Australia will soon be launching a new category, food The Merchandiser (Food) will be responsible for all areas inclusive of ordering, receiving and supporting allocating, distribution, inventory control and Sales Support. The ultimate purpose of the Merchandiser is to support the stores of MUJI Retail (Australia) Pty Ltd in maximising and achieving the company sales, profit and objectives. The broader objectives of the role are to improve efficiencies in the merchandising processes by identifying and implementing changes for continuous improvement.

**Responsibilities**:

- Strategically plan and merchandise product launches, promotions and determine pricing that balances customer expectations and objectives
- Sales forecasting, budget management and sales performance analysis reports
- Analyse daily and weekly sales, profit, sales turnover and determine weekly merchandise action plans
- Work collaboratively across different divisions (Logistics, Visual Merchandising, Finance, etc) as required
- Frequently visit the stores to understand the current trend and support store operations
- Conduct product presentations and product knowledge training
- Set and manage the correct standard inventory levels for stores, stock rooms and warehouses
- Identify and maximise sales of fast selling items, and implement correct measures for slowing moving merchandise
- Understand AQIS, BICON, IFIS and labelling requirements, and work closely with RKJ (parent company) to meet the Australian Market Standards
- Research and propose the local food opportunities including local food development, establish business cases, vendor set up, inventory control and create reports for management and RKJ
- Understand food import and ingredient labelling regulations and promote the development of new foods
- Undertake local food development by interacting with multiple vendors and managing product verification, purchasing, stocking and payment procedures
- Manage expiration dates to minimize disposal losses while adhering to high levels of quality control
- Continuous improvement activities for merchandising processes and procedures
- Manage inventory of your department
- Reporting

**Skills and Experience**
- Formal degree qualifications in or equivalent Business degree highly desirable
- Driver’s license preferred to travel to warehouses
- Fast moving goods retail experience is preferred
- Online business supply chain experience is preferred
