Rainy Day Recruitment is excited to bring an incredible opportunity to experienced Safety Officers on behalf of our esteemed and confidential client. We are searching for dedicated, knowledgeable, and proactive safety professionals to support a series of SA Water Projects, managed by a respected civil engineering firm.

As a Safety Officer, you will be accountable for coordinating and implementing health, safety, and environmental strategies across the sites. This role will ensure all operations align with current legislation, best practices, and the company's commitment to safety.

Role & Responsibilities:

- Promote a strong health and safety culture on-site, driving awareness and education to all workers and stakeholders.
- Monitor operations to ensure compliance with local health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular site audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs and presentations for the workforce.
- Maintain records, compile statistics, and prepare reports related to safety performance.

Skills & Experience:

- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role within the civil construction industry.
- Demonstrated experience on water infrastructure projects will be highly regarded.
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation and industry standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification is desirable.
