Local Government NSW (LGNSW) is an independent organisation that exists to serve the interests of New South Wales general and special purpose councils.

Importantly, we’re not a government department or agency. Instead, we support and advocate on behalf of our member councils to help strengthen and protect an effective, democratic system of local government across NSW.

LGNSW provides a range of specialist human resources and management solutions to member councils throughout NSW. Local Government Management Solutions (LGMS) is a fee for service business unit which has been operating continuously for thirty years. Our team has an extensive background in local government with a proven track record of delivering results which have enhanced councils’ organisational cultures and service delivery. The LGMS brand is highly recognised and respected in our sector and synonymous with delivering excellent outcomes for our members.

**About the role**:Reporting to the Manager and working as part of a small but highly professional, busy and outcomes focused team, you will be responsible for delivering a range of services across the gambit of LGMS services to our members. The HR Consultant, Management Solutions is required to assist councils on a range of human resources functions including:

- Recruitment, placement, and management of Remote Skills Contractors
- Recruitment projects at Director, Manager, and specialist level
- Prepare proposals for HR projects, for example organisational restructures
- Promote and market the range of services offered by the Management Solutions Team and related services offered by the Association.
- Assist Manager and Senior Consultants with HR projects as required
- Work with Manager and Senior Consultants to research and develop potential revenue opportunities
- Stakeholder engagement and business development

**About you**:To be successful in this role, you will have solid HR and recruitment experience ideally gained in local government or similar industry exposure. You will have exceptional oral and written communication skills, have demonstrated ability to cultivate strong stakeholder engagement and ongoing relationships which foster repeat business. You must be a team player, have a strong work ethic and be able to work autonomously. You will have tertiary qualifications in Human Resources and preferably a post graduate degree in business or management. This role requires some occasional travel to councils around NSW for 1- or 2-days overnight stays for onsite work as required which requires you to hold a current a driver’s license and be mobile.
