INTERIOR DESIGN, TEAM LEADER

Job Purpose:
The Interior Design Team Leader is responsible to recruit, mentor, train, develop and lead a team of professionally qualified Interior Designers (both staff and Contract) and ensure that they deliver an industry leading Interior Design experience for each client, achieving high quality design outcomes, delivered on time to delighted clients with margins protected or improved.

POSITION DESCRIPTION 1. Interior Design

Recruit, mentor, train, develop and lead a Team of Interior Designers that will provide an industry leading Interior Design experience for each client that achieves exceptional design outcomes, delivers an exceptional experience and delivers on the design brief and budget. You will work closely with the Manager, Project Management to schedule Key Interior Design Activities into the workflow and oversee each Interior Design project to make sure that the business goal of Happy Clients, Great Homes is achieved. You will ensure that yourself, and each member of the Interior Design Team, is conducting the following for each job:

- Conduct an Interior Design Brief Meeting (IDBM) with each client to establish their requirements and budget for interiors, joinery, fixtures, materials and finishes for their new home.
- Challenge the client’s ideas and selections during the IDBM and proactively provide professional opinion and guidance to ensure design outcomes are innovative, consistent with industry best practice whilst meeting client brief and budget.
- Develop Interior Design concepts in 3D SketchUp format, material palette and finishes and fittings schedules to meet each client’s design brief and budget.
- Develop preliminary external facades prepared by the Design team into final facades with all materials, finishes and colours selected to meet each client’s design brief and budget.
- Assist clients by attending appointments with them at Bathroom and Appliance showrooms
- Assist clients by coordinating and appointments for Lifts, Window Coverings, Furnishings and other providers as required to maximise the quality of the finished home while maximising margin for Latitude 37
- Proactively discuss costs with each client throughout each step of the process to ensure that clients at all times understand the likely build cost inclusive of their decisions and selections
- Conduct an Interior Design Presentation Meeting to present design concepts for each area of the home, proposed material palette and finishes and fittings schedules (detailing both interior and exterior materials and finishes)
- Review in detail the working drawings prepared by the Drafting team
- Review in detail the Bathroom and Appliance schedules, Lift quote, Window Coverings proposal and other third party documents for accuracy, completeness and coordinate with Interior Design drawings
- Present the Interior Design package and work with each client to further develop the concepts to the point they are satisfied with the concepts and schemes and the associated indicative pricing.
- Accurately and thoroughly document the final design adopted by the client together with any concept sketches, design detail sketches, 3D presentations, detailed Fixtures and Finishes Schedule (that list all fittings, fixtures, materials, finishes and colours) and Tile Schedule.
- Work with the respective Project Manager to ensure exteriors and interiors are thoroughly and accurately documented, presented and explained to the client and obtain client sign off of the Interior Design Approval (IDA) within 6 weeks from DBM.
- Assist with the furnishing and presentation of display homes including coordinating with third party furniture rental providers.

2. Client Service
- Ensure excellence in client service and innovative design outcomes that meet or exceed client design brief, on budget.
- Ensure that Latitude 37 clients are treated with respect and their queries and concerns are proactively and appropriately addressed with a sense of urgency (all calls returned within 4 hours).
- Ensure that Interior Design consultation outcomes are accurately and thoroughly documented and provided to Project Manager within 48 hours of finalisation and acceptance by the client.
- Contribute to the development of the Latitude 37 brand by seeking at all times to exceed customer expectations.

3. Systems & Tools Development
- Lead the effort to continuously investigate, develop and implement a best practice approach to Interior Design systems and tools, including:
