**The Principal Investigator is a key position in the recently established Integrity Unit.**

The Principal Investigator will undertake a variety of complex and sensitive investigations in relation to possible inappropriate conduct by staff, students or other members of the University community. The range of matters investigated by the Unit may include sexual misconduct, bullying and harassment, fraud, corruption and other improper conduct.

The Principal Investigator will be responsible for gathering and analysing evidence, including through interviewing, and preparing written reports of findings against the University policy settings. The Principal Investigator will be expected to treat investigation participants with sensitivity, dignity and respect.

The role will also assist with building investigation capability in other areas of the University through mentoring and support and will be involved in the design and delivery of prevention and education strategies.

As a recently established, small team, this is an opportunity to help shape the function of the Integrity Unit within the University.

**To be successful you will need**:

- Demonstrated experience in undertaking and overseeing investigations in relation to complex and sensitive matters, including a demonstrated ability to conduct procedurally fair investigations and form sound, evidence-based findings.
- Evidence of well-developed diagnostic, analytical and evaluation skills, including the ability to make sound decisions in relation to complex matters.
- Demonstrated knowledge of legal and administrative legislation, regulations, policies, employment agreement and enterprise agreements relevant to the function of the Integrity Unit and investigations.
- High level verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to adapt communication to a range of audiences, communicate sensitively and professionally with complainants, respondents and witnesses, and to prepare high quality written briefs and correspondence.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including negotiation, influencing skills and key stakeholder engagement.
- This position requires a valid Working with Children Check and a National Police Clearance._
