**The Team**

The Finance and Corporate Performance Branch is responsible for supporting the AEC to meet its obligations under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act) for the efficient and effective use of public resources.

The Strategic Sourcing and Systems team takes a strategic approach to procurement and management of supporting financial systems to ensure that all AEC business areas receive fit-for-purpose support and advice. Duties

**The Opportunity**

We have a unique opportunity for an experienced financial systems manager who would like to contribute to significant pieces of work that ultimately impacts the way the AEC delivers on electoral integrity for all Australians.

As the Assistant Director Financial Systems, you will oversee the management and implementation of improvements and upgrades to the suite of Financial Management Information Systems (FMIS) within the Strategic Sourcing and Systems team, including participating in section planning and aligning longer term plans with agency goals and objectives.

The role is responsible for undertaking very complex and/or sensitive work, under broad direction, utilising expertise and knowledge within the administration and management of the FMIS and related systems to ensure accuracy in data and functionality, including undertaking assurance activities and testing. In addition, the role involves managing and implementing Whole of Australian Government contracts on behalf of the AEC.

To excel you’ll have:

- Proven ability to lead and manage a team to ensure high quality outputs, including building team capability to maintain a high level of expertise and encouraging career development whilst embedding professionalism.
- Proven ability to supervise and assist the management and maintenance of an FMIS and other finance specific systems, including implementation of upgrades to existing systems.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and actively manage key internal and external relationships, including collaborating with key stakeholders to identify opportunities, achieve outcomes and facilitate cooperation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage contracts and ensure that all appropriate planning and stakeholder engagement occurs for the ongoing support of a suitable suite of Financial Systems to support the AEC.
- Contribute and represent agency views in Whole of Australian Government forums for both FMIS and Travel.

Desirable (not necessary)
- Extensive experience in the management and implementation of an FMIS and associated contracts.
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting, or working towards attaining qualifications.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in a public sector environment and with TechnologyOne and Expense8.
