Job Summary
The Tradesperson is a trade qualified technician (Auto Electrician ) providing front-line support for the Automatic Ticketing maintenance, providing a fast response maintenance service to all users throughout the network; including bus, rail, ferry, light rail, depot infrastructure and station upgrades.
Responsibilities include safety checks, dis-connection and re-connection of equipment and supporting devices, preventative maintenance, remedial maintenance and ETS devices Installation works as required.
As part of your role you will also be required to support local networks, software rollouts and vandalism call outs to meet our contractual obligation and to ensure the ticketing system operates at its optimum performance level.
Essential Job
**Responsibilities**:
- Interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Internal stakeholders include the Field Services management group, local Repair Centre, Field Service and Preventive Maintenance Technicians, Field Service Supervisors, Project Managers and Software Engineers. External stakeholders include customers and suppliers.
- Provide support and technical knowledge for operational and project related activities
- Perform a variety of technical duties involving the use of a wide range of alternate procedures
- Work under general supervision and technical guidance either individually or as part of a team
- Understand complex technical electrical and mechanical engineering schematics
- Operate diagnostic systems to debug and isolate complex faults to component level
- Resolve more complex/critical failure situations
- Report any potential non-conformance or problems to supervisors or other responsible personnel
- Follow specific verbal/written instructions relating to work assignments
- Be responsible for quality of work performed
- Provide technical guidance and assistance as part of a team to improving methods and procedures to meet the quality policy objectives of the Company
- Operate and maintain service records or reports in service-now in accordance with Company procedures
- Resolve verbal and written customer technical enquiries
- Maximize productive output by efficient use of time and materials
- Work as part of a team to provide new system installation and system upgrades
- Assist in the provision of training and up-skilling, in conjunction with other support staff
- Report any potential hazards, accidents and “near miss” incidents
- Update installation and maintain guidelines
- Wear protective clothing provided by Cubic and observe all warnings, signs and notices relating to safety
General
**Responsibilities**:
- Comply with Cubic’s Quality Management System
- Comply with Cubic Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures
- Comply with security in accordance with established policies and procedures of the organizations
- Comply with Cubic Human Resources Procedures
- Other duties as requested
- Including installation of ETS equipment into buses and commissioning
Minimum Job Requirements
- Able to demonstrate and satisfy the requirements of Grade 3 - Field Services Technician
**Qualifications**:
Essential
- Trade Qualification Electrician License or Auto Electrical with mechanical background (preferred trade certificates IV or relevant industry experience)
- TAFE trade certificate
- Current Fair-Trading license ( if applicable )
- Holder of Class C driver’s license
- RIW card
- Construction White Card
Skills/Experience/Knowledge
Essential
- Able to understand complex electrical and mechanical schematics, and update guidelines
- Proven experience in fault finding and diagnostics
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, and demonstrated interpersonal skills
- Outstanding attention to detail and high-quality workmanship
- Excellent time management skills
- Well-developed analytical, problem solving, negotiation, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
Desirable
- Minimum of 1 years practical experience
