This Public Sector Department delivers key programmes and policies, ensuring the community have access to quality wellbeing and economic benefits at all stages of their education and careers. Working within the Inclusion branch, you will collaborate with states and territories on the national vision for providing more accessible services to Indigenous families.
**Your new role**
As **Program Officer**, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of services for disadvantaged communities in regional and remote locations. Your responsibilities will include:
- ** Program Administration**: Supporting the establishment of new services through grants, contract management and engagement
- ** Policy Development**: Contributing to the renewal of access and inclusion policies.
- ** Stakeholder Engagement**: Collaborating with First Nations organisations and other key stakeholders.
- ** Closing the Gap Initiative**: Focusing on the accessibility of programs for remote areas, especially for First Nations children and families.
**What you'll need to succeed**
To be considered for these roles, you will meet the following criteria:
- Be an Australian Citizen with a Baseline Clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Excellent program/project delivery skills with the ability to monitor timelines, manage priorities and see issues through to resolution
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to consult and liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders, including First Nations people
- Strong interest in improving outcomes for the community and will maintain a high ethical and professional standard.
- Experience within the education sector or working with Indigenous groups is desirable
