**Position Information**:
Nulkaba Public School is situated in the village of Nulkaba on the outskirts of Cessnock and is an active and proud member of the Cessnock Community of Great Public Schools (CCGPS), delivering excellence in student education and innovation in our teaching and learning practices.

Nulkaba has a current enrolment of 389 students, comprising of 18 classes, including 2 MC and 1 AU class, with approximately 20% of students recognising and celebrating their Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage. We strive for excellence and have high expectations for learning from all members of the school community. Students are at the center of all decision making.

Nulkaba Public School values inclusive educational practice where students are supported to have a strong sense of belonging and connection to the school. We value research-based initiatives where data driven practices inform the resourcing and interventions within the school.

**Selection Criteria**:

- In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary with demonstrated exemplary classroom practice, particularly in teaching and leading literacy and numeracy.
- Extensive experience in balancing the dual role of an exemplary classroom teacher and the leadership responsibilities of the Assistant Principal.
- Outstanding ability to lead and build a strong culture of collaboration and relational trust with all members of the school community, while inspiring and motivating others to improve their professional knowledge and practice.
- An approachable, open, and visible leader, with outstanding organisation, communication and interpersonal skills who fosters collaboration to build positive, authentic relationships with the whole school community.
- Demonstrated commitment and ability to build upon existing Aboriginal programs whilst including cultural sensitivity to engage Aboriginal students to increase their growth in literacy/numeracy and their wellbeing.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies**Conditions**:
