About the Role

Our Lihir operation is now recruiting for an experienced, self-motivated and detailed oriented Data Analyst to join the Project Management Office team based at the Milton, Brisbane Hub Office.

Your key accountabilities include:

- Identify, collect, analyse, visualise and interpret data to assess risks, identify opportunities for improvements and to provide insights into market trends while ensuring data quality.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand their data requirements, provide meaningful data and key findings on market patterns through data analysis and contribute to process improvement and efficiency gains.
- Generate and maintain BI reports, dashboards and visualisations to track unique performance insights for the Lihir operations and projects in order to make informed decisions.
- Develop algorithms and statistical models.
- Use reports and analyse problematic data, make corrections and determine root cause for data problems from input errors and suggest solutions.
- Provide documentation based on audit and reporting criteria.
- Store, index and sort relevant information.

Essential criteria
- Proven experience working as a Data Analyst on complex data sets, data visualisation, analytics and data quality/data process improvements.
- Extensive experience generating and maintaining reports, dashboards and metrics.
- Proven track record for the delivery of project objectives.
- Working knowledge and experience with SAP, Power BI, SQL and data analytics software.
- Tertiary qualification in IT, Finance, Engineering, Project Management or related discipline.
- Sound planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.

Desirable criteria
- Experience working in the mining industry and across each stage of the mining lifecycle.
- Experience leading a team in a diverse cultural environment.
- Previous experience working in a remote location in a developing country is desirable.

The Requirements
- Must be open to FIFO in PNG
- Ability to complete a pre-employment medical assessment
- Must be able to complete a National Police Check
