The Bureau is seeking a Climatology Specialist to support operational climate and hydrological services. Based in the Bureau's Melbourne or Canberra office, this position will report to the Team Leader of Operational Climate and Hydrological Services.
The role will support the extended prediction, climate monitoring, situational awareness and reporting services. Products and services are delivered to the general public and the Bureau’s internal partners in Decision Support Services, Business Solutions Group and Enterprise Services Group.
This is primarily a service delivery role requiring skills in climate analysis, and/or working with large climate datasets, coupled with a mindset of delivering the best science-based climate intelligence and information in operational timeframes.
To be successful in this role you will be highly engaged in understanding the real-world impacts of our changing weather and climate, with a desire to constantly improve and communicate the Bureau's climate services in line with the agile needs of consumers and stakeholders.
