Project Geophysicist

**Closing: August 16, 2023**:
The Project Geophysicist is responsible for overseeing execution of geophysical components of technical programs and for all ensuing data processing, interpretation and integration required to facilitate technical targeting and project appraisal. Based in Perth, Australia, the position will support project execution throughout the Australia and other regions when required. The position reports directly to the Manager, Exploration - Australia and will have an indirect reporting line to the Manager, Geophysics to support performance and career development objectives.

**Responsibilities**:

- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Plan, manage and oversee/execute geophysical field surveys. Ensure the safe completion of surveys within defined budgets while adhering to Teck’s sustainability values
- Processing and synthesis of geophysical data into integrated products leveraging available geoscience data
- Participation in team based integrated targeting and assessment of project results
- Reporting and documentation of technical results as required
- Assist with technical oversight of projects throughout the region
- Monitoring of governmental or academic geophysical programs within the region
- Establish and maintain technical industry network to support job requirements
- Interact with global geophysical group within Teck Exploration

**Qualifications**:

- A minimum BSc or equivalent degree in geophysics
- Recent industry experience (minimum of 3 years) in minerals exploration
- Experience in Ni exploration, with a focus on electromagnetic methods would be an asset
- Demonstrated experience with overseeing and executing geophysical field operations
- Proficiency with minerals exploration industry geophysical software (including Oasis Montaj) and experience with geophysical modelling (UBC, Maxwell)
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills with the ability to work within small engaged multi-disciplinary teams
