Sydney, Australia NSW Government -Teaching Service Full time

**Position Information**:
The school's staffing entitlement in 2023 is 67.5 teaching staff and 12.7 non-teaching staff. The school also employs an additional ACIP DP plus HT positions - Technology, Teaching and Learning, Learning Support, as well as a Business Manager, Technology Support Officer and 5 School Learning Support Officers from school funds. Our executive staff is stable with the majority being here for more than five years. 21% of our staff are in their early career as teachers.

The school enjoys the rich diversity created through the performing arts community with students performing at local, regional and state levels in the areas of Dance, Music, Drama and Circus. We have fostered strong partnerships with universities, cultural institutions, businesses and community groups to support students through our various programs in addition to supporting student transitions to post school pathways and school-based apprenticeships and traineeships.

**Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,

1. Demonstrated skills and proven capacity to work collaboratively as part of an executive team to actively promote and support the implementation of the school’s strategic plan.

2. Willingness and ability to contribute to whole school management and organisation, leading staff and community with extra-curricular events, exhibitions, showcases and actively engaging with whole school creative and performing arts projects.

3. Expert knowledge of curriculum and assessment with a demonstrated capacity to lead the development and implementation of innovative teaching and learning programs that support a culture of high expectations.

4. Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to provide strong educational leadership and pedagogy to lead a cohesive faculty that delivers learning outcomes for a diverse range of learners.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
