**The Role**

The role of Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing quality and safe electrical and control maintenance services on plant and equipment in accordance with policies and procedures, safe work practices and the environment. This includes HV and LV electrical work, protection system maintenance, control, fault finding and defects investigation.

At the Upper level the role involves providing expert service and advice on a range of technical problem solving/analysis, solutions/recommendations, operating limitations/impact on a wide variety of plant and systems involving monitoring and control systems.

Multiple career paths are also available to progress into leadership, engineering or plant operation pathways. Delta is very supportive of further education and provides both financial support and study leave to accommodate this.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Electrical and control breakdown and routine maintenance;
- Assess plant condition and recommend modifications/improvements;
- Review established maintenance processes and actively seek opportunities for improvement;
- Lead, mentor and guide apprentices, trainees, contracted and other team members;
- Lead/guide small teams as necessary in both day to day activities and project work;
- Ensure a safe working environment for yourself and other;
- Ensure work is completed to the relevant Australian Standard to ensure high quality outcomes;
- Prepare and update drawings and documentation.

**Who We Are Looking For (Selection criteria)**
- It is expected that the successful applicant will have:_
- A Trade Certificate in electrical, electronics, instrumentation or relevant equivalent qualifications along with substantial related industry experience;
- Well developed fault finding, analysis and problem solving skills;
- Ability to prioritise and demonstrate a sense of urgency, work under pressure and meet deadlines;
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills including; sharing of information, ability to give and receive instruction and build rapport with key stakeholders;
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and actively contribute to team effectiveness and a positive workplace culture;
- Demonstrated knowledge of safe work practices;
- Experience working with QA systems/ work modules; and
- A strong commitment to ongoing learning and development.
- Qualifications and experience in the following areas would be highly regarded_
- Relevant Advanced Diploma or other relevant post trade qualification
- Substantial experience in instrumentation maintenance in a Power station or heavy industry environment.
- Experience in a leadership role.
