**About the role**
In this role, you will lead the Employee Communications and Engagement (EC+E) team and provide strategic oversight and leadership of employee and communications projects.

Key responsibilities include:

- Developing the business plan for the EC+E team, aligning with Directorate priorities and in collaboration with key internal partners.
- Establishing, leading and delivering digital employee communications and engagement channels and processes, including leading the delivery and ongoing management of a new City intranet and associated digital engagement channels.
- Providing expert communications advice to key stakeholders.
- Overseeing responses to media and public enquiries including coordination with partners in the various projects to deliver joint messaging and approvals for media and other public statement relating to employee matters or strategic programs.
- Leading performance monitoring and reporting for the EC+E team and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Developing and delivering a timely and accessible employee emergency management communications approach.
- Identifying, monitoring and managing the key communication and engagement risks relevant to employee and strategic program communications.
- Managing the EC+E team budget, along with discrete budgets for project, communication and engagement activities.

**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in journalism, communications, media, public relations or community engagement.

Essential Experience:

- Demonstrated experience in leading, developing and implementing stakeholder communications and engagement strategies in complex environments with multiple initiatives within major change projects.
- Experience implementing both internal and external communications involving organisational change and internal and external transformation.
- Extensive demonstrated experience executing community and stakeholder engagement processes to ensure successful ‘buy in’ and understanding from all interested parties.
- Outstanding communication skills to engage, influence, facilitate and gain commitment with people from all levels of an organisation and key stakeholders across business, government and the broader community.

- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, educate and motivate other project team members and people leaders in best-practice communication and engagement processes and skills.
