About the role
Are you passionate about renters rights? Want to do work that makes a difference to the lives of older people? Our Tenancy and Retirement Housing workers are a small team working within our Housing Support Service. This role is focused on helping older residents across private rentals, retirement villages and other housing types. If you have worked in tenancy or as an advocate and enjoy working with older people, we encourage you to apply. Flexible and above award conditions, friendly team.
SELECTION CRITERIA
- High level communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience working in the community sector.
- Initiative and ability to work both independently and under supervision.
- Ability to work in a team in a sometimes demanding work environment.
- Experience working with members of diverse communities including older people, LGBTQIA+ people, people from CALD backgrounds, etc.
- Ability to communicate sensitively with financially disadvantaged older people
- A commitment to social justice
Housing for the Aged Action Group provides generous above-award salary and conditions.
All applicants must have the right to work in Australia and will be required to complete a Working with Children Check and Police Check.
Social and Community Service Worker, Community Development Workers Award 11(b) Year 5.3 of the SCHADS Award, salary range - $100K-120K
Full time hours negotiable
