**Fixed term appointment for 12 months based at Roseworthy Campus.**

The School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences provides world-class, outcome-based education and training of animal and veterinary scientists in a research environment. Based at the Roseworthy Campus, 60km north of the Adelaide CBD and minutes from Gawler, the school is situated on a 1600 ha property that includes a working farm, full service Veterinary Health Centre teaching clinics, and a range of general purpose and specialist teaching and research facilities.

Working under general direction, the role of Research Farm Technician will manage the day-to-day running of the Roseworthy Research Flock, Feedlot and surrounding paddocks. This will include assisting research teams to collect and record data and managing competing research allocations of animals.

**To be successful you will need**:

- Demonstrated experience in the daily husbandry, management and care of sheep and/or beef cattle
- Strong knowledge of the livestock production systems (sheep and/or cattle) of Southern Australia
- Strong knowledge of pasture and principles of pasture rotation for Southern Australia
- Understanding of good biosecurity and disease management practices for livestock
- Experience in operating farm machinery e.g. Tractor.
