**A bit about the role**

As the **Team Leader Youth**, you will be working across multiple sites across Wyndham and will be responsible for leading a team of youth workers, with oversight of day-to-day operations, including rosters, budgets and professional development of staff. You will be an experienced people leader with a collaborative and supportive, coaching, and mentoring approach.

There will be service delivery elements to this position, along with building strong partnerships with local stakeholders and internal Council areas. Additionally, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and facilitating services and programs for young people that respond to their needs and that are framed within a youth participation and strengths-based approach.

To be successful in this position, you will hit the ground running, possess a tertiary qualification in the relevant field, have experience in innovative youth program planning, and juggle competing priorities in short timeframes. Your skills in budget preparation and monitoring and evaluation of programs and services, and your ability to be a positive and effective team member will assist in your success in this position.

This position is a parental leave backfill, based at the Manor Lakes Community Learning Centre leading the Manor Lakes/Wyndham Vale District Team, as well as across multiple sites within the municipality.

**What you will deliver**
- Leadership and coordination of Youth Services service provision for young people and their family across the municipality through a commitment to organisational values, policy adherence and maintenance of positive relationships with key stakeholders
- Active and effective supervision and support to your team of youth workers to ensure that service delivery is of the highest standard.
- Delivery of high-quality activities, events and services that encourage and support young people across the municipality.
- Contribute to design and continuous improvement of placed based programs and services to ensure that they are flexible and responsive.

**What you will bring**
- Degree qualification in Youth Work, Community Development, Social Work or a related discipline and substantial relevant experience in the generalist Youth sector as a practitioner
- Substantial experience working directly and collaboratively with young people, volunteers, and community organisations in the delivery of programs for young people.
- Demonstrated experience in supervising and leading a team in a complex environment.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining strategic partnerships and stakeholder relationships.
- Exceptional organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
- Current Employee Working with Children Check
