**The Role**
A rewarding opportunity has presented itself for a dedicated and driven individual to join our Parks Unit as a Spray Operator.

In this role you will Undertake the treatment of weeds, pests & diseases in Council's Parks, Sports fields and Open space areas

This opportunity will be offered on a permanent full time basis.

The salary range for this opportunity starts at $59,585 (Grade C, Step1) + AWACA + 11% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience

**Your duties in this role will include**:

- Ensure the treatment and spraying of weeds, pests & diseases in parks, sports fields and other open space areas
- Ensure the correct procedures are followed in the mixing, spraying and transportation pesticides.
- Ensure all plant and equipment is properly operated, calibrated, maintained and serviced as required.
- Operate plant & equipment including spray vehicles, boom sprays, edgers, brush cutters, chain saws and other related plant as required.
- Ensure the accurate completion of daily activity sheets and reports as necessary.
- Assist the Crew Leader Spray Operations to provide recommendations for improvement and maintenance of Council's Parks, Sports fields and Open Space Assets
- Working of flexible work hours including early morning starts on an ‘as required basis’.
- Undertake risk and hazard assessments of all areas and where necessary take corrective action.
- Assist the Crew Leader Spray Operations to identify, report and where possible rectify landscape deficiencies especially in the area of sports field preparation & maintenance.
- Maintain information on the status of all projects under the position holder’s control.
- Operate minor plant items/hand tools as required.

You will have:

- AQF 3 certification for the use of pesticides or equivalent
- Experience in the use and spraying of pesticides.
- Current Class C Drivers Licence.
- Skills & experience necessary to fulfil the role, responsibilities, duties and competency requirements of the position
