We seek an outstanding Mathematics educator who has passion and vision, ready to lead our Mathematics programs into the next phase of development. Melbourne Girls Grammar has an enviable reputation for excellence and innovation, and this is reflected in our Mathematics program.
The **Head of Mathematics** is responsible for co-ordinating, leading and promoting the school’s vision and philosophy for Mathematics, with particular focus on our Years 5 to 10, and VCE programs.
The Head of Mathematics will lead a team of teachers dedicated to the implementation of high quality pedagogical practices and a continued focus on the development of engaging, rigorous and innovative teaching and learning programs.
Leadership in the innovative use of digital technologies is an important part of the role of the Head of Mathematics. Appropriate use of technology is an integral part of teaching and learning at Melbourne Girls Grammar. Our programs incorporate blended learning elements, including notebook computers, a Learning Management System, and other digital technologies.
The Head of Mathematics will champion enrichment opportunities for students including competition work and extracurricular initiatives, as well as leading on targeted support initiatives and interventions. Further, they will facilitate the development of rich open-ended mathematical tasks and collaborate on the design and implementation of STEM transdisciplinary learning initiatives.
