Nambour, Australia Lives Lived Well Full time

**Are you ready for a great opportunity to help others in the fabulous Sunshine Coast region?**

**About us**

At Lives Lived Well, we’ve been treating and supporting people whose lives are affected by alcohol and other drugs for over 50 years. We also support people with mental health and gambling concerns and those transitioning from correctional centres. We’re growing fast and building a reputation as a trusted, innovative provider, focused on clinical excellence. Our driving belief is that “with the right support, people can change”.

**About the Team**

Breakthrough For Families (BFF) provides information and support to family members of people who have problematic substance use. It can also deliver specialised support for families who are affected by methamphetamines and other substances. The service delivery involves a combination of free AOD education sessions, brief intensive intervention through counselling and case management, as well as links to other Lives Lived Well services or community organisations.

Are you ready to join us and help make a difference where it matters most?

**About the role**

Based in our Nambour office, we are looking for a Family Counsellor to join the team part time, working 3 days (22.8 hours) per week on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will utilise a community development approach to:

- Provide brief intervention counselling to families and loved ones, aged 12 and up, who are impacted by someone’s substance or alcohol use.
- Utilise clinical models of counselling to provide evidence-based practice and implement/review client service plans.
- Be willing and able to complete outreach across the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service region.
- Deliver our pre-existing face-to-face and online information sessions to families, stakeholders, and broader community members, by offering education and support around drug and alcohol use.
- Proactively network across the Sunshine Coast region to ensure continuity of referrals.
- Engage in network agency meetings to continuously promote the services offered by Lives Lived Well
- Be able to work independently and within a remote team environment.
- Comfortably use programs such as Teams, Outlook, and client database systems

The role does offer a shared working vehicle across the team and provides kilometre reimbursement with the use of personal vehicles, if required. The gross hourly pay rate for this role is between $39.26 to $42.25 plus superannuation, depending on skills, knowledge, and experience.

**What you’ll bring**

To succeed in this role, there are some essentials you’ll need:

- Tertiary qualifications in a related area/health services discipline and/or equivalent experience.
- Applied knowledge in family/AOD counselling practice and case management.
- Experience in developing and delivering therapeutic groups sessions with high-level group facilitation skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage own workload.
- Highly developed communication and community engagement skills.
- Hold a Blue Card (or ability to apply).
- Current unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence.

While not essential, we’d also love you to have:

- Knowledge of the local region is highly desirable.

**What matters most is that you’ll live and breathe our values, which means**:

- You are humble, human, and full of hope.
- You show up and share.
- You ask: Why not? And what’s next?
- You leave a positive wake.

Why? We believe that, through these values, we do our best work - for each other, for clients, and for the communities we work in. And it’s a promise we make to you about the kind of experience you will have working for us.

**Why work for Lives Lived Well?**

You’ll love working with talented people who share our values. Our services and treatments are as diverse as the communities we work in. We’ve grown significantly in the past few years, with no plans of slowing down.

**So, what does that mean for you? A real opportunity to go further**
- You’ll grow as a person and as a professional, extending your knowledge and skills beyond the norm.
- You’ll be trusted with autonomy in a supportive, respectful environment.
- You’ll make a lasting impact - on clients, the community and a team that cares as much as you.

**But it’s more than that.**

You’ll join a curious team that thinks differently and seeks new ways. We look to the evidence. We explore new ideas. And when we reach “better”, we ask, “What’s next?” Which means you’ll need to be comfortable with change - you’ll enjoy variety, and the opportunity to achieve more, faster.

**And while you support others, we’ll support you with some great benefits, including**:

- An extra five paid leave days per year (pro rata for part-time and contract positions) to support your wellbeing and work-life balance.
- Salary packaging to increase your take-home pay.
- Regular clinical supervision, case conferencing and de
