**The Opportunity**
The Stewardship Officer contributes to the delivery of the Hills and Fleurieu Landscape Plan through engaging land managers, community, industry groups and stakeholders to manage and regenerate land, water and nature. The Stewardship Officer will support land managers through providing advice, connecting them to networks, and delivering capacity building opportunities. The role contributes to the planning and delivery of projects to tackle local landscape management issues.

**About the Hills and Fleurieu Landscape Board**
This position will be hosted by the Hills and Fleurieu Landscape Board (HFLB). The HFLB is one of nine regional boards in South Australia, including a metropolitan board called Green Adelaide, that support their local communities to manage soils, water, pests, and biodiversity. These boards invest landscape levies into regional priority issues as well as leveraging Australian Government funding towards managing and protecting our productive and natural landscapes. **Stewardship Officer Key Objectives**
- Land managers, community and industry groups, councils and other stakeholders are connected with the technical advice networks and support they need to enable them to effectively plan and manage land, water and nature.
- Community education and awareness of pest plant and animal control, watercourse and dam management and land management is raised through activities such as field days, fact sheets, media articles, and presentations
- Land managers and stakeholders are engaged in prioritising local landscape management challenges, and developing and delivering projects to address local priorities.
- Climate resilience is incorporated into all activities associated with the management of land, water and nature
- Constructive and cooperative relationships with councils, public land managers and stakeholders are established and proactively maintained to enable collaboration, partnering and participation in projects.
- Projects and on-ground work deliverables are coordinated and achieved in partnership with land managers, stakeholders and the community, and are delivered on time and within budget.
- Permits and compliance issues, under the Landscape South Australia Act 2019, relating to watercourses, dams, pest plants and animals, and land management on private properties are documented, and proactively monitored and resolved through effective liaison with land managers.
- The work of Landscapes Hills and Fleurieu is promoted in liaison with communications staff, via a range of tactics, including publications, print and social media, presentations, workshops and forums.

**Requirements**:

- This is a 2 year contract, full-time (37.5hrs p/wk). Flexible work arrangements may be negotiated.
- This position is based at Mount Barker, with flexible working arrangements available by negotiation.
- The incumbent may be required to participate in fire management or associated duties.
- The incumbent may be required to participate in biosecurity emergency response.
- Some out of hours work, intrastate travel involving overnight absences from home and attendance at public meetings out of normal office hours may be required.
- The incumbent is required to work alone in a field environment, including working in adverse conditions from time to time.
- Must hold a current drivers licence and be prepared to undertake 4WD training.
- All staff are encouraged to wear the appropriate uniform in any public setting to represent Landscapes Hills and Fleurieu in a professional manner.
- The incumbent must have or be willing to undertake and satisfactorily complete accredited training that relates to becoming an Authorised Officer under the Landscape South Australia Act

**Remuneration**: $74,315 - $77,901 per annum (ASO4)
