- We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team to work in our Multidisciplinary Laboratory.Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Blood film reporting and validation
- Operation of Haematology analysers in both routine and audit related Quality Assurance activities
- Contributing to continuous improvement and the development of new assays as required
- Liaising with internal and/ or external stakeholders (referring practitioners) regarding test results or referrals as necessary
- Compliance and adherence with Policies and Procedures, Workplace Health and Safety Procedures and Quality Assurance Processes
- Perform manual and automated diagnostic testing
- Performing all routine procedures from point of specimen reception to execution of results for Pathological diagnosis, including specimen dissection
- Compliance with records maintenance and recording of results in line with protocols
- Maintaining all equipment and operating equipment in line with protocols
- Maintaining current scientific knowledge
- Participation in both routine and audit related Quality Assurance activities
- Contributing to continuous improvement and the development of new assays as required
- Liaising with internal and/ or external stakeholders (referring practitioners) regarding test results or referrals as necessary
- Compliance and adherence with Policies and Procedures, Workplace Health and Safety Procedures and Quality Assurance Processes
**About you**
- To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the essential requirements:
- Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience, knowledge, expertise and skills within the respective discipline
- Sound knowledge of QC, QAP and troubleshooting
- Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation/certification
- Perform duties with a high degree of independence and with infrequent supervision
- An outstanding commitment to quality and excellence
- A willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures
- A positive attitude toward achieving outcomes and being a cohesive, contributing team member
- Strong time management, interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
- The ability to cope and thrive in a busy environment

- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- This role may require additional vaccination history and evidence for department specific vaccine preventative diseases
- It is a mandatory requirement to have a current and valid Driver's License and own car
