**The Role**:
We are looking for suitably experienced Emergency Medicine Consultants/Senior Consultants to join a large teaching Hospital.

The Emergency Department sees over 90 000 patients per annum, with approximately 20% paediatric age group. The department has a diverse and interesting case mix, with a high trauma load due to its role as the only trauma centre in this catchment area. Consultants are present in the department from 8.00am until midnight seven days a week. Full time and part time applicants may be considered.
- You will join a large medical team of 40 FACEMs, a postgraduate fellow, 3 Senior Registrars, 30 registrars, and multiple other junior medical staff.
- There is potential for FACEMs to be involved in the Regional Aeromedical Retrieval Service, the Inpatient Trauma Service, and the Australian National University.- Rostering is flexible and innovative.

**The Hospital**:
PROVIDING WORLD-CLASS HEALTH FACILITIES - the Hospital is expanding to include a new emergency, surgical and critical healthcare building, with more operating rooms, more treatment spaces and more intensive care beds. In a first for Australia, the new emergency and critical care facility will be an all-electric building, helping to minimise the carbon footprint of the hospital. Medical imaging capabilities will be improved for clinicians and patients through the addition of an MRI machine, three computer tomography (CT) machines and an Orthopantomogram (OPG) machine for diagnostic scanning.**New operating facilities in the building will include**:

- 16 general digital robot-enabled operating theatres
- four hybrid suites combining imaging and surgical capability.
- one intraoperative MRI machine for diagnostic and procedural work
- two interventional radiology suites supporting less invasive procedures.

**PLUS**
- A new Emergency Department with 147 spaces
- New and improved intensive care facilities
- 22 operating theatres
- Dedicated paediatric beds and spaces for children within the new emergency department and intensive care unit.
- The new Intensive Care Unit (ICU) will double what is currently available from 30 to 60.

The Hospital is a 600+ bed tertiary trauma and referral hospital providing services to the region and southeastern New South Wales (population 500,000). The hospital provides services in all specialties except major burns, spinal injuries and solid organ transplantation. There are accredited training programs in all major specialties. The hospital is the principal teaching hospital of the Australian National University (ANU) Graduate Medical Program.**The Location**:

**Skills & Qualifications Required**:
Be registered or be eligible for full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA); and
- You must hold the FACEM
