This role is crucial in promoting a ‘Safety First’ culture within a key maritime program, where Babcock bring together engineering, design, systems integration and platform management capabilities to sustain the Collins Class submarines. Based at our Osborne facility, the HSE Advisor will ensure compliance with company, customer, and international standards such as ISO9001, ISO45001, and ISO14001, you’ll lead the endeavours to identify areas of non-compliance, produce management information, and deliver reports on non-compliance and shortfalls in quality assurance and HSE activities.

**About you**

You will be an experienced HSEQ Advisor, with a wealth of demonstrable experience facilitating in quality assurance activities within a large, matrixed organisation. You will have sound knowledge of HSEQ related legislation, and the impact it has on business unit activities, with the ability to communicate and articulate messages relating to this to stakeholders of varying levels of seniority and technical understanding of HSEQ best practices. Additionally, you will possess:

- Australian Citizen with a Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain).
- Risk or Safety Management related qualifications i.e. Assoc. Dip., trade or equivalent.
- Certificate lV qualification in Health and Safety Management.
- Qualification as a Lead auditor.
- Qualification as an accident or incident investigator.
- Sound knowledge of AS/NZS ISO 45001:2018, WHS legislation and standards.
- Previous experience working within the Defence industry.
