- VICAs the HSE Manager you will be based at our Equis office in Brighton, Melbourne and be part of implementing and maintaining a strong HSE management culture across all sectors Renewable Energy (Battery Energy Storage Systems, Onshore and Offshore Wind, Waste Infrastructure) throughout Australia, including sharing knowledge and lessons learned with related Equis projects in the region.

You will take a leading role and be responsible for providing HSE advice and guidance to personnel on all aspects of projects (EPC, O&M) within Australia, including, but not limited to, corporate HSE guidance and implementation. Moreover, you will support the pursuit of improving our HSE performance and safety culture in obtaining Goal Zero. You will collaborate with our partners, contractors, and suppliers to identify HSE focus and improvement areas and participate in relevant HSE industry working groups in Australia, and within the global Equis HSE Department. You provide input to Country and Corporate Management Reviews, conduct internal audits, safety by design, and provide company HSE training for HSE related matters (as per requirements and approved plans).

You ensure HSE compliance throughout all Australian projects, including the evaluation and implementation of emergency response plans and training (site and offices). You participate in incident investigations when required and provide constructive input, as required, to the wider company HSSE organization in the form of lessons learned, case histories, safety moments, newsletters, and suggested improvements from Australia and any other global activities.

You are willing to take on a wide and variable range of tasks with a 'can-do' attitude, to support the development of HSE activities in Australia, and Equis as a whole, and to ensure, that key deliverables are met.

The HSE Manager reports directly to the Company HSE Director.

**Essential Responsibilities**:

- As part of the Global HSE team, you will be responsible for providing the implementation of the HSE Framework, HSE Policies, and Guidelines for the Australian Sectors Renewable Energy (Battery Energy Storage Systems, Onshore and Offshore Wind, Waste Infrastructure)
- Monitor the effective implementation of appropriate HSE policies and procedures (including psychological mental health) and provide advice and guidance regarding Australian HSE legislation, and the dissemination thereof to personnel.
- Periodic update, review, and audit of the HSE Framework, including the implementation of continual improvement strategies.
- Provide technical HSE support and advice, liaise with EPC and O&M contractors to agree plans and procedures for the full project life cycle. This includes conducting project site inspections to ensure compliance.
- Advice and guidance shall include, but is not limited to, construction works of projects - high risk activities, hot works, mechanical and electrical commissioning, permit to work, job safety analysis, etc.
- Perform HSE Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRA), action plans, and control measures to ensure continual improvement.
- Participate in Waste HAZOP meetings prior to procurement and installation activities.
- Participate in HSE Management systems audits as per ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 requirements.
- Design, implement, and provide in-house CHSE training to staff and cultivate a safety culture compliance in line with Goal Zero - no harm, injury or damage to personnel, property, or the environment (including provisions such as safety moments and newsletters).
- Lead the overall management of HSE related matters throughout Australia.
- Lead the monitoring and review of HSE compliance.
- Identify and implement recommendations of HSE improvements.
- Report the country HSE statistics monthly to Equis corporate.
- Proactively identify any deterioration of HSE performance and pursue mitigation actions.
- Write procedural and other related documentation in English as may be required.
- Conduct the hiring and management of HSE Project Specific Personnel.
- Perform other related duties as necessary.
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner that reflects the core values of Equis.

**Job Qualifications and desired characteristics**:

- Degree in Occupational Safety or Health or related.
- International certifications (CSP, IOSH, etc.)
- Extensive experience within a Construction HSE Representative role, specifically in a management role
- Extensive knowledge of HSE best practices, international standards, and Australian HSSE Legislation.
- An excellent knowledge of the English language (reading, written, and spoken)
- Experienced in working in a construction/operational/offshore renewable energy environment.
- Have experience in working with multiple contracting parties.
