**About - Research, Innovation and Commercialisation**
Research, Innovation and Commercialisation (RIC) is the central facilitator of research funding in the University, taking advantage of the full diversity of research funding opportunities.

The Research Infrastructure team, initially located within Chancellery (Research and Enterprise) but will shift to RIC in 2023, provides strategic and operational support to the research infrastructure ecosystem across the University. This includes operational and development support for research platforms and support to strategically important, high value funding and commercial development opportunities across the University, to deliver high quality research outcomes for the University - this is done in close partnership with Chancellery (Research and Enterprise).

**About the Role**
The Research Infrastructure team within RIC supports the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) (DVCR) to deliver on the University’s ambitions for research and innovation, as articulated in Advancing Melbourne 2030. As part of Research Infrastructure team, the Program Support Officer-Funding (PSO-F) supports the portfolio through providing high quality administration support for research infrastructure grant funding and proposal development, along with project and strategy development support for the University’s state-of-the-art research infrastructure portfolio.

Reporting to the Director, Research Infrastructure, you will provide strategic, project management and administrative support for the attraction of funding from government and other sources. This includes advice and support for the development of funding proposals for research infrastructure and advice pertaining to the management of post award matters delivered collaboratively across the RIC team.

Responsibilities include:

- Provide coordination, administrative support and advice to the University’s engagement in research infrastructure funding schemes.
- Provide high quality administrative support to committees by organising meetings, recording minutes and actioning agenda items, as necessary.
- Coordinate and deliver small scale projects related to matters of research infrastructure and service development.

**About You**
To succeed in this role, you must have a strong focus on customer service and exceptional interpersonal skills, as well as a keen attention to detail. Your strong written and oral communication abilities will enable you to build long-lasting relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Additionally, you should possess well-developed organizational skills and strong time management abilities, allowing you to meet deadlines and effectively balance competing demands.

You will also have:

- Experience in providing support to the development of grant funding proposals including providing advice on research infrastructure proposal development, reviewing grant proposals to ensure eligibility and competitiveness against scheme requirements, and providing high quality information and advice to academic researchers, research infrastructure staff and Faculty research administrators.
- A tertiary degree in a technical discipline (e.g. Science, Engineering, Biomedical or related) with subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Experience in providing project and administration support in a tertiary institution research institute or similar including support to senior management and committees.
- Developing knowledge of the research and research infrastructure environment or awareness of policies and practices associated with the successful operation of research facilities, with particular emphasis on the higher education sector.
