**Why Your Role Matters**:
As a Research Assistant, you will draw upon your clinical and research experience, particularly in mental health focused settings (mental health, alcohol and other drugs or neurological concerns), and provide administrative and technical research support. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of clinical researchers on a variety of projects focused on building evidence to support the provision of physical health care within mental health services including evaluating lifestyle interventions to improve the cardiometabolic risk of participants as part of the Keeping the Body in Mind program.

The role of Research Assistant reports to the Research Manager and has no direct reports.

**Who You Are**:

- A Bachelor Level university degree (Allied Health or Nursing an advantage) or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training or experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work with mínimal direction, show initiative and work effectively as a member of a research team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to build rapport and relate to consumers with mental illness, carers, healthcare services and other associated persons/services.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise own workload and work independently as well as an effective member of a team.
- An understanding of relevant NSW Health guidelines relating to physical health care for mental health consumers and emerging models of treatment/care.
- Proven ability to engage meaningfully with communities to improve health and wellbeing.
- Sound understanding of how social determinants of health influence access to health care.
- Strong computing skills and demonstrated experience in data analysis using SPSS or similar for basic analysis.
