**Electrical Apprenticeship**

Austal are looking for enthusiastic hands-on people who are ready to be a part of Australia's leading strategic shipbuilder for Defence. Austal is committed to the training and development of future apprentices, and we need you to continue to grow our 2050 strategic plan

**Task's Involved**
- Follow construction guidelines.
- Build switchboards and field devices.
- Install cable trays.
- Install cables for electrical systems ie. lighting, GPOs, navigation and communication systems, generators, engines, HVAC.
- Terminate electrical systems ie. lighting, GPOs, navigation and communication systems, generators, engines, HVAC.
- Commission and set to work electrical systems both on the jetty and during sea trials.
- Service and maintenance duties.
- Ensures own work practices, workspace and colleagues conform to Austal Safety procedures and policies.
- Can demonstrate take 5 competencies.
- Shows evidence of self-checking own work and rectifying if below standard.
- Keeps the work area clean and tidy without prompting from supervisor.
- Understands process to report safety issues and incidents.
- Understands electrical tagging procedure of power tools and fixed plant equipment.
