**Job Description**:
A fantastic opportunity exists for a Laboratory Manager based near Perth Airoprt.
- Take ownership to prioritise and expedite samples in the Bauxite Digest and Instrument sections to meet client turnaround times and agreed productivity KPIs.
- Solve analytical problems with respect to sample preparation; sample digestion and instrumental troubleshooting.
- Ensure that new staff members are continuously trained, job observations performed and staff verified as competent.
- Provide all the required technical support to enable the laboratory to function effectively whilst adhering to SGS quality procedures and health and safety guidelines.
- Ensure that laboratory tests are performed to produce reliable and precise results to meet client requests and requirements.
- Responsible for sample routing, formulating changes, improving workflow and maximum utilization of resources in the department.
- Responsible for development, effective utilization and supervision of human resources within the department, including training, recruitment and performance management.
- Determine accreditation requirements and implement and monitor.
- Must be fully acquainted with the LIMS system.
- Must comply and conform to the Quality Management System (ISO 17025 and NATA).

**Qualifications**:

- B.Sc. (Chemistry) or related discipline
- Extensive experience in geochemical laboratories
- Sound experience in sample preparation of geological samples
- Sound experience in most, if not all, laboratory analysis areas
- Sound understanding of ICP-OES, IC, Carbon Sulphur Analyser, Magnetic Susceptibility and related spectroscopy equipment operation and maintenance
- Sound experience with G6 LIMS and other operational software
- Demonstrable experience in wet chemistry
