We have a new vacancy for an **Environmental Management officer in our Environmental & Industrial Group.**

The Group contributes to Urban Utilities’ purpose and vision by protecting the environment and public health through our core treatment services; being prepared for the future through the treatment solutions and growth opportunities of tomorrow; and enabling economic growth and prosperity through our customer and developer services.

This role creates value through partnering and collaborating with internal business areas to ensure ongoing compliance with environmental legislation and regulations as well as providing support and advice to achieve best practice and shared outcomes.

This role will also see you supporting the business-critical _Bulimba - Hamilton Siphon Renewal Project _through management of its environmental authority. This once in a generation project ensures we continue to deliver safe and reliable water and wastewater services for our customers, and supports growth, development, and jobs in our communities.

Some of your accountabilities will include:

- Collect water samples and interpret water quality results in the context of environmental harm
- Assess compliance against environmental licences
- Investigates standard and non-routine environmental incidents and provide expert advice to more senior colleagues while coordinating with all internal functions.
- Prepare and coordinate the completion of regulatory notifications and investigation reports, identifying and interpreting trends and translating into easy to understand language

**About You**
- A tertiary-level qualification in a science discipline or similar
- Can collaboratively engage with internal and external stakeholders around assessments, compliance, licensing, and results
- Experience with environmental sampling would be highly regarded
- Experience with environmental legislation would be highly regarded
- Understand that field-based work is a required component of this role
