CSIRO plays a leading role in one of the world’s largest radio astronomy projects: the SKA, which will be co‐hosted by Australia. The SKA telescopes will revolutionise our understanding of the Universe and the laws of fundamental physics. Enabled by cutting‐edge technology, the SKA promises to have a major impact on society, in science and beyond.

The SKA‐Low telescope is being built by the SKA Observatory (SKAO) at Inyarrimanha Ilgari Bundara, the CSIRO Murchison Radio‐astronomy Observatory (the Observatory) on Wajarri Yamaji country in Western Australia. CSIRO’s Site Entity team manages the Observatory on behalf of the nation and is also tasked with the preparation of other facilities to support construction and operation of SKA‐Low: at the Observatory in WA’s Murchison Shire, in Geraldton, and in Perth.

As the **Observatory Coordinator - Facilities and Infrastructure**, you** **will be responsible for coordinating delivery of corrective and preventative maintenance works for the Observatory’s civil infrastructure and in relation to land management. You will also work with various stakeholders to manage site
- and land-related deliverables to the SKA-Low telescope.
The position is responsible for contributing to the establishment/refinement of effective strategies to deliver continuous improvement in asset management and land management, including monitoring, maintenance scheduling and reporting.

**Your duties will include**:

- Liaising with Observatory tenants and CBIS and in managing delivery of maintenance activities of the Observatory site, including, but not limited to; roads and airstrips, fencing, environmental management, erosion control, vermin control and fire management.
- Supporting the development of and implement effective facility operational and maintenance plans and budgets.
- Receiving, processing, assessing, managing and monitoring job requests, utilising the CBIS work order management and invoicing system in accordance with CSIRO’s financial and asset management procedures.
- Working with the broader CSIRO team to procure and manage contracts for works and/or services for delivering services and works relating to land, buildings and infrastructure ensuring compliance and deliverables are met.
- Managing delivery through monitoring of contractor performance.
- Providing feedback on contract compliance and lease/license compliance by way of timely information and reporting.
- Monitoring compliance with legislative and governing authorities’ requirements and CSIRO procedures including Finance, Procurement, Health Safety & Environment (HSE), such as contractor security clearances, inductions and similar activities that may have an impact on site and personnel operations, safety and the environment.
- Identifying, analysing and managing emerging risks (including regulatory and compliance issues), escalating issues in a timely manner and as needed to ensure risks are effectively managed.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders and influencing change without direct line control.

**Salary**:AU$89,680 - AU$101,459 plus up to 15.4% superannuation

**Tenure**:Indefinite. Full-time, Part-time (no less than 30hr/wk) or job share arrangements will be considered.

**To be considered you will need**:
Essential
- Demonstrated knowledge, experience and ability in the development and coordination of timely procurement and delivery of reliable, cost-effective facilities management services.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with relevant procedures/protocols, compliance and statutory requirements associated with Federal, State and Local Government building and services codes and regulations, and Occupational Health and Safety requirements that may be applicable to personnel operations, safety and security at the Observatory.
- Strong organisational skills, plus a demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and adapt to changing circumstances as required.
- Proven ability to successfully negotiate and influence internal and external stakeholders without direct authority.
- Demonstrated experience managing remote site maintenance, such as unsealed roads, airstrips or remote accommodation facilities, including utilities.

Desirable
- Experience of project delivery in a complex contractual environment.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of cultural heritage obligations under Indigenous
