**About the role**

As a key member of our team, reporting directly to the Health Information Manger, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the collection, collation, and management of data aligns seamlessly with the hospital's legislative requirements. Your key responsibility will be to deliver precise and timely coding of diagnoses and procedures, all while adhering to the latest coding standards.

You will be processing confidential data, which is used for billing, morbidity collections, research, statistical analysis, management information systems, quality activities and casemix management including Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG) allocation.

**Essential criteria**:

- Recognised degree or qualification in ICD-10-AM coding

**Desirable**:

- Minimum 2 to 5 years hospital medical record coding experience covering a variety of specialities
- Experience in the use of 3M Codefinder software;
- Knowledge of health fund contracts and Australian Revised Diagnostic Related Groups (ARDRG);
- Sound IT skills
- Excellent organisational & communication skills;
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise;
- Commitment to high standards of service through a continuous improvement focus;

**Remuneration**

**Hourly Rate from - $41.02** + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.
