Catering Assitant

**About Us**

We are a dedicated team committed to providing nutritious meals to those in need. Our Meals on Wheels program plays a crucial role in supporting our community, and we are looking for a dedicated and organised Catering Assistant to join our team.

**About the role**

As a member of the catering team, you will be responsible for adhering to our food safety standards and supporting the day-to-day operations of the plating room. The physically demanding role involves lifting, carrying and moving large quantities of food between kitchen, cool rooms and trucks, along with
- Preparing and labelling meals in accordance with food safety standards and Meals on Wheels guidelines.
- Food preparation, cooking, storage, and as relevant, delivery of meals
- Cleaning and maintaining kitchen and plating areas daily.
- Support food safety audits conducted by relevant stakeholders.

**About you**

You’ll be physically fit (you’ll be on your feet most of the day), be able to work in cool spaces and have
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience in a similar role is a plus but not required.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent, Casual

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week

**Experience**:

- Commercial Kitchen: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driver Licence (required)
- Food Safety Supervisors Certificate (preferred)
