Mechanical Fitter

Downer Rail & Transit Systems business has a wide portfolio of projects currently in delivery nationally. RTS leverages the in-house capabilities within Downer to offer integrated solutions covering rollingstock, infrastructure, rail systems, operations and maintenance, as well as system integration. We are currently seeking **Mechanical Fitters to join our team based in Pakenham, Victoria. These positions are a full-time fixed
- term contract ending June 2024.**

**About the roles**:
We need Mechanical Fitters to form a key component of improvements we are making in the Downer Rail maintenance team. They will be primarily responsible for the cleaning process for HCMT filter systems. We have multiple positions available.

**Your day will entail**:

- Disassembly and cleaning of filter systems
- Establishing an environmentally sound process of filter cleaning
- Establishing an efficient routine methodology of filter exchange/renewals
- Completing all documentation and inspection check sheets

**Specific desired skills and experience**:

- **Trade qualified - Certificate lll in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Fitter)**:

- Ability to work unsupervised and be a hands-on team player
- Proven ability to organise and prioritise tasks
- Flexible and resourceful
- Experience in LEAN or KANBAN would be highly desirable
- Strong communication skills
