**About the Role
**We have an exciting opportunity available within our Group Support Services division for a Procurement Manager who will cost-effectively procure and manager the overall procurement activities of a wide range of quality products and materials.

This role will report to the Commercial and Investments Manager and will be required to meet ongoing production and construction requirements across all areas of the Ahrens business.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop, oversee and execute procurement plans with multiple business units and divisions, including category plans and sourcing strategies and identifying opportunities for contract establishment and consolidation.
- Manage and maintain cost categories, cost codes and reporting to ensure consistency across Ahrens Group and identify priorities, value opportunities and areas for improvement.
- Analyse demand and spend data, working with group and division managers to identify requirements and opportunities for cost savings and supply chain optimisation.
- Draft contracts and related transactional documents and manage multiple contracts and KPIs, including implementing master supply agreements with preferred suppliers.
- Leverage supplier agreements to provide value, efficiency and benefit across divisions
- Identify, optimise and manage supply chain transport and logistics risk and strategy by business unit and division.
- Negotiate bulk prices, discounts and rebates on similar products across divisions.
- Coordinate and maintain standard product/procurement list and drawings/specifications data base.
- Work with business units and divisions to achieve earliest identification of upcoming product and materials requirements and take pro-active steps to reserve and secure them.
- Continually assess priorities and place orders on the basis of business units’ and divisions’ needs and supplier capacity and performance.
- Protect Ahrens’ interests by entering into confirmed, irrevocable offers followed by purchase orders in line with financial authority matrix.
- Monitor the extent to which delivered shipments comply with requirements and specifications.
- Provide input into tenders and bids.

**Skills and Experience**
- Experience in procurement within structural steel, metal fabrication, silos and/or water tank manufacturing industries.
- Demonstrated experience leading procurement in a tight timeline driven environment.
- Demonstrated experience setting up and managing cost categories, cost codes and consolidating.
- Experience conducting formal bid processes, leading cost-effective procurement processes.
- Direct experience drafting and managing contracts and related transactional documents.
- High level of negotiation, communication and relationship building skills.
- A well-planned approach and organised mentality with an ability to multitask effectively and keep internal customers informed about realistic delivery/quality expectations.
- Great communication and negotiation skills with the capacity to build healthy, productive relationships with your suppliers and internal customers.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines within tight timeframes.
- Ability to understand, plan and prioritise based on different business units’ and divisions’ requirements and keep internal customers satisfied.
- Experience in procurement within a group with multiple business units or divisions (preferred).
- Knowledge of supply chain processes, transport & logistics, incoterms and customs processes (preferred).
- Knowledge of appropriate material codes and specifications (preferred).
