Our client is an Australian owned family business with its head office in Sydney and branches in Canberra, Newcastle and Wollongong. They service over 550 buildings and add value through quality, integrity, responsiveness, technology, and teamwork. With over 20 years’ experience in strata, commercial cleaning, building management and garden maintenance they are a forward-thinking company with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. Due to the growth of the business, a new opportunity has become available for an outstanding, qualified Horticulturist / Operations Manager with a keen eye for detail to run the garden and maintenance program operations. The successful applicant will hold a minimum Certificate III in Horticulture and have at least 3 years’ practical experience.

**The opportunity**:

- Manage the cleaning and gardening team members effectively in accordance with operational requirements
- Quoting and estimating jobs
- Quality control and maintaining the highest standards of garden planting and maintenance
- Manage, maintain and operate platform systems and equipment in an effective manner to ensure optimal functionality
- Provide exceptional & timely customer service to internal & external stakeholders (tenants, owners, contractors, managers etc.)
- Manage contractors and service schedules so as to ensure timely repairs and mínimal loss of plant functions
- Focus on continual improvement initiatives for complexes within the portfolio

**Skills and experience we are seeking**:

- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in horticulture
- Qualifications in horticulture (Certificate III) or higher
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level computer skills with competency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Proven experience in problem solving with continuous improvement methods
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Sound leadership skills
- The ability to build rapport with people of all levels
- Enjoy working in a collaborative, team-based environment
