**About the role**

The level 2 Podiatrist provides advanced services for clients that can have their needs met in the Intermediate Care setting.

The Podiatrist position provides direct clinical care with the aim of preventing unnecessary hospital admissions by providing early intervention. This position ensures compliance with safety and quality standards within this high risk clinical area due to the complexity of this client group.

Intermediate Care provides services directly, particularly to specific target groups such as Indigenous people, newly arrived refugees, women, and people with complex co morbidities and chronic conditions and other vulnerable groups such as the homeless.

Embrace and embed service innovations and new technologies into practice, including virtual care initiatives.

The role is responsible for the planning, development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of podiatry services by:
Undertake all phases of intervention processes/projects and coordinating interventions as a member of an intervention team
- Select, adapt and develop new and innovative methods within the scope and objectives of the podiatry service and accept personal professional responsibility for the completeness and adequacy of activities
- Developing, implementing and reviewing podiatry service goals, objectives, policies and procedures
- The podiatrist will be required to respond to organisational requests for professional advice and/or supervision and provide professional consultancy to management, staff and other agency employees.

Identify, participate in and promote service improvement initiatives including quality assurance evaluation, team-based improvement projects, consumer engagement and research.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Current National Police Clearance (NPC)
- Immunisation screening as indicated in the role description. SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.

**Educational/Vocational Qualifications**
- Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration with the Podiatry Board of Australia.
