RSL LifeCare is seeking a dedicated and experienced SPUR Wrangler to join our Veteran Services team. As a SPUR Wrangler, you will play a pivotal role in delivering equine programs that promote resilience, recovery, and reintegration for our veterans.

Our SPUR program aims to empower veterans by providing them with equine handling and care experiences, breaking down barriers, and fostering a sustainable, long-term connection with the community.

This position is Part-Time, 3 days a week Tuesday - Thursday 7am - 3pm.

As a SPUR Wrangler, you will work in close collaboration with the SPUR Program Manager and a volunteer workforce to provide exceptional support to our veterans.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Horse Training and Behaviour Management- Planning and Execution of Horse-Related Activities- Horse Health and Wellness- Team Collaboration and Leadership- Communication and Task Prioritisation- Customer Interaction

To be successful in this role you should have the following:
- TAFE Statement of Attainment: Instruct Basic Horse Handling.- Demonstrated recency and experience in handling, riding, and training horses in a Western Riding Discipline.- Understanding of small ranch operations, including animal husbandry and maintenance.- Basic knowledge of first aid for horses and when to seek veterinary assistance.- Ability to re-shoe horses in emergency situations.- Ability to drive a 4WD.- Ability to load and tow a horse float.- A knowledge of or the ability to develop knowledge of veteran culture as it pertains to the objectives of this program.
