**Policy Writer - NSW Government**

7x roles available - 6 month contract

Parramatta & WFH (3/2 day split)

$556 50 per day + super

The Senior Policy Officer is responsible for supporting the development of customer-centred policy information across a range of policy areas, ensuring content is appropriately targeted for the audience and aligns to policy standards and templates, as well as usability and accessibility requirements.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Write 3-4 procedure level documents between now and the end of the year
- Draft content condensing current policies to be fewer in number, and easy for end-users to understand
- Collaborate with a range of internal and external teams and policy owners to ensure that HR policies, procedures and associated frameworks are supporting a high performing organisation whilst aligning with legislation, awards and key departmental strategies.
- Undertake a line-by-line review of current policy to reduce administrative burden on departmental employees - review schedules and checks on operationalisation of HR policy for Department wide people policies.

**Selection criteria**:

- Previous experience with **writing** - either policy, technical writing or HR writing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to understand complex information and present in Plain English format
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to write to a high standard within tight timeframes
