Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is currently recruiting for a Piping Designer / Drafter to join our piping design team in the Brisbane office. This role is responsible for design and drafting activities which will need to conform to the relevant corporate and client standards. This position will initially commence on a 12-month contract.

**Responsibilities**
- Preparation of detail drawings from design sketches and other engineering data requiring trade skill and knowledge
- Required to plan, allocate and supervise the performance of a major segment of the drawing office work
- Responsible for design drafting and conformance to standards
- Evaluate and execute all piping design deliverables and related services on portfolio of work within schedule
- Liaise effectively with other disciplines, engineers and clients’ representatives.
- Provide effective written communication in site surveys and technical reports
- Understand requirements of the design quality system and meticulously ensure that these requirements are met
- Represent piping design commitments and requirements on all projects

Skills / Qualifications:

- 2 to 3 year's technical diploma with piping design specific training or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- 5 to 8 years of piping design experience
- Experience with AutoCAD is mandatory
- Experience with Hexagon's SmartPlant 3D or Aveva's E3D software is preferred
- Strong understanding of using point cloud and ability to interpret flange survey results
- Familiar with laser scanning and conventional surveying techniques
- A committed and professional team player with a positive attitude
