**The Opportunity**

Cochlear has an opportunity for a Paralegal based in our Macquarie office.

Responsibilities include:

- Performing legal research and preparing summaries of research and discussion points.
- Drafting and reviewing business as usual contracts including but not limited to confidentiality agreements, consulting agreements and data processing, under supervision of a lawyer in the CLTD Legal Team.
- Assisting with conduct of other legal matters including but not limited to litigation/dispute under the supervision of other members in the Legal Team.
- Drafting memos, letters and minutes of meetings.
- Preparing draft correspondence for the business and external parties.
- Assisting with the review and implementation of legal compliance and corporate governance policies.
- Obtaining relevant records and information from databases to prepare event timeline summaries.
- Work as a member of the CLTD Legal Team to develop and implement strategies to maximise the effectiveness and efficiency of the Legal function.

**Minimum**
- Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with lawyers at all levels of the CLTD Legal Team.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Self-sufficient individual who is able to work on information analysis with limited supervision.
- Must be able to work 3-4 days a week (half-day Tuesday mandatory).

**Ideal**
- Experience working for a law firm or in house legal department.
- Scientific background or course of study.
