**What you'll be doing**

This position is part of the Clinical Engineering department which provides a high quality medical technology support service to clinical staff in their use of medical devices to monitor, diagnose or treat patients within the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD).
The Clinical Engineering department operates as a central reference point for all Clinical Engineering related activities and functions in accordance with best practice, relevant Australian Standards and Industry Guidelines.
The department’s objective is to provide safe, effective, reliable and well maintained medical devices for patient care throughout the ISLHD.
The Biomedical Technician role is responsible for acceptance testing, calibration, performance verification, preventative maintenance, repair, education, record keeping and the provision of consultation services with regards to the medical technology employed within the ISLHD.
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (3 doses for Category A roles, 2 doses for Category B roles) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination if available.

**Selection Criteria**
- Advanced Diploma of Electrical Engineering or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Demonstrated experience in the maintenance and repair of electronic equipment.
- Well-developed interpersonal and negotiation skills with an outstanding commitment to excellent customer service who can work independently and as a team member.
- The willingness and ability to participate in a 24/7 on call roster to facilitate the provision of an out of hours emergency repair service for medical devices.
- Possess a current and valid Australian motor vehicle driver license and the ability to travel in accordance with position responsibilities.
