**The Opportunity**

We are currently recruiting for a HSE Officer for a major mining operation in the Outer West of Melbourne. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager the role’s objectives is to support the management team to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards within the whole plant operations.

Working for a leading mining & resources company who pride themselves on safety as the up-most importance as well as demonstrating a huge social and economic prosperity of the community. You will work closely with HO based in Perth, where support for admin and documentation will be available. The role will then see you lead all things HSE on this site.

**Qualifications**:

- HSE related Certification and or qualifications
- Mining ISO accreditation
- Other qualifications within the O/WHS are desirable
- White Card (essential)

**Responsibilities**:

- Conducting Safety audits across all areas of the Plant & mine
- Address areas of non-conformance to WHS
- Develop an action plan based on best solutions identified during WHS solutions discussions
- Monitoring and recording hazard observations, near misses and injuries
- Ensuring compliance with of all areas to ensure they meet the necessary standards
- Assisting with injury management and return to work processes
- Provide support to local staff on HSE
- Organise internal audit schedules for quality, safety and health, and customers
- Review different aspects of project management based on priorities and needs
- Provide support to local staff on HSE requirements. Approx. 20 site-based personnel

**Experience & Requirements**:

- Attention to detail and a commitment to compliance
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role locally - min 2 years Australian experience (essential)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to drive the importance of the message to all stakeholders
- A Friendly, bubbly, approachable ‘Can’ do attitude.
- Ability to use initiative and work unsupervised (essential)

**Working Hours: 40 Hours per week, Monday - Friday (7am - 3pm)**
