Incident Responder

Date: 10 Oct 2023- Location: Ringwood, VIC, AU, 3134- Company: VentiaEastLink is a vital motorway stretching 39km located in the Eastern and South-Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Ventia have a longstanding partnership with EastLink that makes up part of the Ventia Roads family which provide roads maintenance and operational services across ANZ.

This is a permanent, full time role & will work according to a continuous roster of 12hour shifts day and nights.

**Duties**:

- Attend reported incidents as directed for the motorway, tunnels, shared use paths and wetlands.
- Become the forward liaison officer assisting / responding to Emergency Services requirements during major incidents.
- Attend to breakdowns and liaise with the owner for removal or repair if required.
- Participate in the closure of the freeway or tunnel carriageway / lanes to protect incident scenes and ensure safety of road users.
- Provide roadside traffic management services and resources to clean up after an incident.
- Proactively patrol the EastLink freeway, tunnels and interchanges and report issues.
- Set up and shutdown traffic management to control traffic for planned and unplanned maintenance
- Repair, refurbish or replace defective property, plant and equipment and perform corrective maintenance activities as required.
- Document all activities, readings taken, materials and time used.
- Maintenance and safe keeping of tools, equipment (including safety equipment), plant items, motor vehicles, crane trucks and hired plant items.

**About You**
- Experience or Qualifications in a similar relevant role
- Emergency Possess and continue to hold a current Victorian Drivers Licence, including MR or HR license
- Proven ability to work unsupervised and be available on a call in basis.
- Experience working outdoors in similar conditions including high volume traffic
- Must be eligible to work in Australia (citizenship or visa sponsorship).
- Demonstrated capability to work on freeways and road systems
- A reasonable level of mechanical aptitude and an understanding of the maintenance of road machinery, plant and equipment.
- Roadside Traffic Management certificate
- First Aid & Fire Extinguisher certificate
- Height Safety
