**Purpose**:
The Cargo Surveyor is responsible for undertaking independent Surveys for buyers and sellers of bulk liquid cargoes discharging / loading at Terminals around Australia both onshore and offshore. They may also be responsible for bunker surveys, sampling ship and shore tanks, storage tank inspection, container inspection, draft surveys, and basic testing to ascertain product quality.

**Main Duties**:

- Perform independent cargo surveys without any direct supervision in accordance with company procedures and API requirements.
- Understand client’s requirements/formal instructions and clarify with Supervisor if in doubt.
- Ensure that a Job Safety/Hazard Analysis is completed for all new jobs and that Occupational Health & Safety guidelines are adhered to at all times.
- Physically sample, measure, and take temperatures of vessel’s tanks and shore tanks utilising a variety of methods stated in company’s Operating Procedures and API requirements.
- Calculate and report quantities transferred and perform full reconciliation of same.
- Accurately complete all required reports and forms.
- Provide written and verbal updates to customer representatives.
- Compile final report / documentation for each appointment and communicate this to the customer representative in a timely manner.
- Work in cooperation with client’s representatives, Customs, vessel personnel, government agents and shore facility personnel to ensure accurate results are achieved and ensuring that client requirements are met.
- Maintain regular communication with office staff with reference to job status, problems, concerns, etc.
- Maintain knowledge and adhere to the latest industry and client procedures and standards as provided by the company.
- Ensure all measuring equipment and other equipment’s used for work are having valid calibration status.

**Other Duties and Requirements**:

- Experience in cargo surveying and relevant industry is a MUST.
- Wiling to relocate to Western Australia and travel within Australia if required.
- Maintain confidentiality, specifically, do not disclose any proprietary information and data in the performance of your work duties for AmSpec.
- Works within all company policies and procedures and, behaves in accordance with the AmSpec Group Global Code of Conduct.
- Ensure that required qualifications, inductions and licences are current at all times.
- Other tasks as directed by the State Manager / Operations Manager.

**Qualifications**:
**Education / Qualifications / Licences**:

- Current International Federation of Inspection Agencies (IFIA) Certification
- Current Australian Drivers Licence
- Evidence of the right to live and work in Australia
- MSIC Card

**Technical Knowledge / Skills / Experience**
- 3 years’ experience in a cargo surveying role
- Successful in personally managing delivery against customer requirements
- Detailed knowledge of the American Petroleum Institute (API) Manual of Petroleum Measurement Standards
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal
- Ability to work under pressure and outside standard working hours
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to make sounds suggestions and/or recommendations
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office

**Salary**: $5,000.00 - $8,000.00 per month

Work Location: On the road
