**Basketball Coaching Jobs on FRIDAYS **commencing **FEBRUARY 2023**
You work for Playball at **MSAC **Albert Park (or AQUALINK Box Hill) as part of a team of Playball **Coaches **& Referees, coaching beginners (6-8 year olds). Teams train for 40 minutes and you usually **complete 3 or 4 training sessions** back to back.

**Playball Basketball **is an after-school primary-school-aged Basketball Competition & Training Organisation with 350+ junior teams. Teams vary in skills from total beginners (6-7 year old) to teams of highly skilled players (11-13 year old)

Playball operates in two main area.

1./ **BAYSIDE & MSAC** - MSAC Albert Park on 12 courts, as well as Port Melb. to Brighton on school courts
2./ **WHITEHORSE** - Aqualink Box Hill and surrounding suburbs.

Competition & **Training** run
**BAYSIDE **(MSAC to GESAC): Tuesdays & Wed 4:00 - 6:00pm & **Fridays** 4:00 - 7:30PM
**WHITEHORSE** (AQUALINK)**:Fridays** 4:00 to 7:00PM
**GESAC** Bentleigh**:Wednesdays** & Friday 4:00 - 6:15PM

Playball is affiliated with **Basketball Victoria** runs over 350 teams serving 3000 children weekly.

**Some experience **in teaching sport to groups of children is required as well as enjoying working with children, enthusiasm, reliability and punctuality. Excellent communication skills, a strong voice & good clear English is required for these coaching jobs.

**You will have **extensive Basketball Playing experience and a passion for the game and a desire to help children with no exposure to basketball to commence learning.

Lesson plans/ guides and instructions and an hour Training/ Induction session is provided to new Coaches who work for Playball directly.

**Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications**
- Eligibility to work in Australia
- Working with Children Check if 18 years or older
- Previous experience in sports coaching juniors preferred
- Has played or plays competitive high-level basketball
- Able to control a group of excited children in a noisy environment and effectively teach some basic skills, organise drills, and game activities
- Time manage the multiple 40 minute training sessions

- Athletic & fit - able to demonstrate skills and drills
- High-level communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional, responsible, organised and disciplined

**Salary**: $20.00 to $30.00 /hour. (multiple hours)
