We are offering people interested in connecting with Traditional Owners a genuinely exciting opportunity to join us as a** Survey Engagement Advisor **in our Biological Assessments team. This Perth based opportunity involves occasional site travel but there is flexibility if you want to spend more time on country learning from biological experts and Traditional Owners.

Reporting to the **Survey Engagement Specialist** and working in a collaborative and exciting environment within our State Agreements and Approvals team, you will learn to and eventually independently:

- Undertake effective planning for Traditional Owner involvement on biological surveys, including health and safety, scheduling, site mobilisation and logistics for Traditional Owner Groups or participants
- Collaborate with the wider Biological Team, Approvals, Heritage and Agreements Team in the implementation, development & improvement of policies & procedures
- Develop and maintain favourable relationships with internal and external stakeholders through strong engagement and communication
- Coach survey participants according to Rio Tinto HSEC and CRM procedures
- Engage with internal projects and working groups as appropriate to support Biological Assessments and the State Agreements and Approvals team
- Contribute toward an inclusive culture through collaboration with peers across the broader Environmental Approvals team.

- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to quickly develop positive relationships
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills coupled with an ability to think on your feet and make quick rational decisions
- Significant cultural understanding and experience
- Ability to prepare project debriefs
- Ability to work with technical software e.g. GIS/ ArcGIS
- Ability to influence and promote health and safety
- Tertiary qualifications preferred but not essential
- environment or social discipline (desirable)
