**The Opportunity**

As a Safe City Ranger in the City of Perth, you will provides a quality frontline service to the City of Perth to aid towards a safe and secure community. This includes providing proactive support and advice to businesses, residents and the public on community safety initiatives, and assistance to Emergency Service Organisations as required.

Reporting to the Safe City Rangers Coordinator within our Community Safety and Amenity team, your responsibilities would primarily include:

- Carry out patrols and surveillance throughout the City of Perth and report issues, doing this in an efficient, courteous and professional manner;
- Issue infringement notices and/or cautions accurately, fairly and impartially;
- Check thoroughfares are clear of obstructions or permits exist for obstructions that are present; and
- Enforce permits issued by the City, including the control of: Street Entertainer permits, Obstruction permits, Hoarding and Gantry permits, Outdoor Dining permits.

**About You**

To succeed in this role, you will possess:

- Previous experience working in a customer interfacing role, with demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong conflict resolution skills and ability to deal with difficult customers.
- Strong ability to record information in an accurate and legible manner and write reports including correct spelling and use of grammar;
- Demonstrated time management skills with strong team work ethic including the ability to work with minimum direct supervision; and
- Security and Crowd Controllers Licence (or be able to obtain)

**Eligibility**

To be eligible to work for us, you will need to demonstrate:

- A right to work in Australia (e.g. a birth certificate, current passport or current visa);
- Fitness for work via a pre-employment medical;
- Current First Aid Certificate;
- A current ‘C’ class Australian drivers licence; and
- A satisfactory National Police Clearance (dated within 3 months).
